I quit video editing. Then modelling. Then interior design. I was that person who started strong and faded fast. Until I discovered the one thing that separates quitters from achievers.
If you're like me, you want success and freedom, freedom of time, and the ability to spend your days doing meaningful work you truly care about. You want to manage your schedule, have financial stability, travel, be with family, and stop trading your life for a salary that doesn't reflect your values.
To get there, you need to understand a few critical things. I'm going to share them with you now:
- Why most people fail (so you can avoid their mistakes)
- That life will be hard no matter what path you choose so you might as well choose the path that leads to your dreams
- The exact formula for success and where most people give up
- The secret to pushing through when others quit
Let's dive in.
Why most people fail?
There are several things that make people fail.
- Not giving enough effort
- Not being consistent
- Not having enough patience
- Too much distractions
- Not being able to handle boredom in the process
Not giving enough effort - Usually because it's hard or they don't care enough
Not being consistent - Consistency requires boring, unglamorous repetition
Not having enough patience - They expect results too quickly
Too many distractions - They scroll on social media instead of staying focused
Can't handle boredom - They quit when the excitement wears off.
Let me explain what's really happening when you feel like quitting.
Your brain is wired to seek novelty and excitement. When things get repetitive and boring, it starts craving that dopamine hit. Suddenly, scrolling Instagram feels more appealing than working on your project. Starting something new seems better than continuing something old.
But here's the secret:
When you can sit with the boredom - when you can show up even when it's not exciting - that's when real growth happens.
That's when you separate yourself from everyone else who gave up.
So you can see for yourself how many times you’re close to quitting and when people are most likely to do it.
But what you need to understand is that this is part of the process, so don't be scared - push through these hard moments and your life will change drastically.
The Hard Truth About Problems
Let me show you a new perspective on life. No matter what level you reach, there will always be problems:
- $2,500/month: problems
- $5,000/month: different problems
- $10,000/month: new problems
- $50,000/month: bigger problems
Success doesn't eliminate problems - it just gives you better problems to solve.
But here's the question:
Would you rather have problems while pursuing your dreams, or problems while settling for less than you deserve?
You're going to have problems either way. At least choose the problems that come with growth.
Learn to see problems as part of the game, not reasons to quit. When a problem appears, ask yourself: "How can I solve this quickly and move forward?" Don't let it paralyse you with anxiety.
You're stronger than you think. You can handle more than you know.
The formula for success
I want you to remember this formula. Write it down if you need to:
Show up consistently → Do the work even when it's boring → Improve little by little → Stay patient during the hard parts → Results eventually come → New challenges appear
It sounds simple, but living it is hard. People used to fail at one specific step: staying patient during the hard parts.
This is the final test before success. You'll have days when you question everything. When you wonder if you're wasting your time. When everyone around you seems to be moving faster.
Here's what you need to understand: Those feelings are normal. They're part of the process.
Now that you know this formula, you can check where you are and push harder at the point where most people quit.
The secret to pushing through when others quit.
It's not just discipline. It's care.
Usually people can't stick with something because they're not emotionally connected to it. They don't care deeply enough.
Care means showing genuine interest or concern but it's hard to care without emotional connection. People naturally care when feelings are involved when they love, worry, or feel a real connection to something.
One of the most powerful skills you can develop is learning to create care. You can do this through repeated exposure or by linking your work to something you already value.
Train yourself to see everything through the lens of care. It turns everyday actions into valuable moments and keeps life from feeling empty.
Start caring on purpose.
Because when you care:
- You'll show up consistently
- You'll push through boring repetition
- You'll fight for your dreams, even when it's hard
Your Next Steps
Pick one thing. Just one. Something that matters to you, something that could change your life if you stuck with it for at least six months.
Commit to showing up for it every single day, even when it gets boring.
When your brain starts looking for distractions, remember why you started. Remember the person you want to become. Remember that everyone who ever achieved anything meaningful went through this exact same struggle.
The difference between you and successful people isn't talent or luck. It's whether you'll keep going when keeping going feels impossible. Care enough to keep going. And I believe you will. And that’s where real success is built.
Remember you don't need to be perfect. You just need to be persistent.
That's all for this week.
Thank you for reading.
See you next Sunday.
