People really don't give habits the credit they deserve. They can move the needle for you, and you don't even realize it. That's exactly why you don't change them. You underestimate what habits can actually do for your life.
It's normal not to be aware because most of the time, you don't realize what you're doing right and what you're doing wrong. So how can you change something you don't know is broken?
The problem with wrong or bad habits in your life can make you feel like you're losing time. Days are passing and you have no progress at anything.
You feel anxious all the time because you're doing something you don't really want to do. And eventually → the pain of regret in the future is total nightmare.
Let's break down what is your life:
Your life has had X years, Y months, Z days. One day has 24 hours, and you sleep an average of 7-9 hours per day.
What's left?
Your life is a summary of 24 hours - 8 hours = 16 hours per day.
More precisely, your life is what you DO in these 16 hours every single day.
So to achieve what you want to achieve, you probably have to do something in these 16 hours, right?
And now we come to the conclusion that you need to focus your attention on what you're going to do TODAY.
Not in a week, not what you did one year ago.
Just TODAY.
This is all you have → the present moment.
But here's the thing, most people are wasting 3-4 of those hours on habits they don't even notice.
You feel busy all day but make no real progress. Days blur together. You go to bed knowing you could've done more but you're not sure where the time went.
That's why today I'm going to show you the 3 biggest time thieves and how to stop them.
soo let's jump in
#1 You scroll without realizing how much time you're actually spending.
This one's brutal because it feels innocent.
You think you're on Instagram for "just a few minutes" but it's actually 2 hours. You put on Netflix "for background noise" and suddenly it's midnight. Your brain gets little dopamine hits that make time disappear.
Here's what I want you to do:
→ Set a phone alarm for every 30 minutes tomorrow. When it goes off, write down what you're doing. Just one sentence. Don't judge it.
Most people are shocked when they see the real numbers. Once you know where your time actually goes, you can organise it properly.
#2 You don't have a plan for your day, so you just react to whatever happens.
Without a plan, you'll always pick what feels easiest in the moment.
Check email instead of working on your goals. Scroll social media instead of learning something new. Watch TV instead of doing anything meaningful.
This creates anxiety because you know you're not being intentional with your time.
The fix is simple:
Plan your 16 hours the night before. Write down:
- What time you'll wake up and what you'll do first
- Your 2-3 most important tasks for the day
- When you'll handle necessary stuff like meals
- How you'll spend your evening
Successful people don't have more willpower. They just make fewer decisions because they've already planned everything out.
#3 Your daily actions don't match what you say matters to you.
This is big one.
You say you want financial freedom but spend zero time building income. You say family comes first but give them leftover energy after work and entertainment. You say health is important but never exercise.
This mismatch creates constant stress because your actions don't align with your values.
Here's what to do:
→ List your top 3 values. Then look at how you spent yesterday. Would someone guess your values correctly based on your time?
If not, pick ONE small daily action that matches your highest value. Want financial freedom? Spend 30 minutes each morning learning about investing.
Start small.
The goal is alignment, not perfection.
How to get your time back?
Here's your simple plan:
- Track your time for 3 days using the alarm method. You need to see where it's really going.
- Plan each day the night before. Know your priorities before you wake up.
- Pick one bad habit to stop and one good habit to start. Don't try to change everything at once.
Look, you get exactly 16 hours every day. Most people waste 4-6 of them on stuff that doesn't matter. If you reclaim just 2 hours daily, that's 730 extra hours per year.
That's like getting 18 extra weeks.
The time is already there.
You just need to take control of it.
Your future self will thank you.
